What is a Dataset
A dataset is where you have placed all data you have collected into one spot.
Let’s take the example of our survey. Lets say it had 10 scales to measure 10 concepts that we were interested in. Each scale can usually have a different number of items. But for ease sake, lets say each scale had 3 items.
Guess how many questions we had on the survey then?
Correct, we had 30 questions / items.
For each of our 1000 kids that we gave our survey to, we need to now enter their responses onto one spot or dataset.
(Yikes, that’s a of work.
No worries, that’s why we have research assistants to help us enter such data).
